Chestnut is the only nut described as a “grain that grows on trees.” It can be used as a pure flour in recipes such as brownies, pasta, and unleavened bread.
Our flour is extra sweet to the taste and contains no bitter pellicle. Hearthy Chestnut Flour is great in baked goods, appetizers, entrees, soups and sauces, and desserts. A helpful hint — chestnut flour can be used as a roux by adding 1 or 2 tablespoons of it to sauces and stews.
Use chestnut flour with our other flours — apple flour, banana flour, and sweet potato flour.
