Howdy! We're Tony and Devin

We’re a husband-and-wife team behind Function Coffee Co, roasting small-batch specialty coffee right here in Northlake, Texas.

We started Function Coffee Co because we were tired of coffee that tasted old, bitter, and burnt. But we also didn’t love the pretension that so often comes with specialty coffee. So we set out to create something better: coffee that’s crazy-fresh, ridiculously smooth, and made for real life.

Our beans are ethically sourced, roasted weekly, and crafted for people who want a genuinely great cup without the snobbery.

We're excited to open our first coffee shop in Northlake this Spring. Until then, we’re bringing that same fresh-roasted experience straight to your door.

Our story

How Function Coffee Co. came to be

I started drinking coffee at the ripe old age of Child. My earliest coffee memory? Standing in my grandparents’ kitchen in Beeville, TX, when my mom handed me a red mug filled with coffee, a tidal wave of milk, and six scoops of sugar.
It tasted like liquid magic.

Fast forward a few years: my taste buds grew up (slightly) as I spent years working for coffee shops in New York City and Los Angeles, soaking in the craft, and culture that shaped my love for specialty coffee.

After returning home to Texas, I set up a Bellwether electric Shop Roaster—which produces 87% less emissions than traditional gas roasters. And the rest is history. Function Coffee Co. was born from equal parts passion, curiosity, and a desire to build something that truly serves the community around us.
