A New Narrative
Portrait Coffee exists to reimagine the world of coffee. While coffee was first discovered by Africans, their faces have largely been forgotten, even as the drink became one of the most consumed beverages globally. Our name reflects a desire to change that picture.

Since launching in 2019, we’ve been featured on Good Morning America, won awards like the Google Black Founders Fund and Sprudge’s Most Notable Roaster, and shared thousands of pounds of our coffee. What started as a simple drink has become an ode to our ancestors—an invitation to drink with purpose.

The West End is Home
As coffee enthusiasts and West End locals, we’re passionate about creating opportunities in our community. This historic Atlanta neighborhood, rich in Black entrepreneurship and culture, is experiencing revitalization, yet there are too few Black and Brown entrepreneurs. We hope Portrait Coffee sparks new representation and growth. Join us in pouring a new narrative.

Coffee with a Purpose
Portrait Coffee bridges the past, present, and future of coffee by connecting producers, consumers, and roasters. Through initiatives like the Young Producers Program—with Unblended Coffee—we help emerging farmers develop their profiles, risk-free.

Beyond roasting, we work directly with producers, learn from them, and honor their stories. From sourcing to every cup we serve, we’re here to pour a new narrative in coffee.
